South Florida Business Aviation Association to Host Breakfast to Discuss Aircraft Operations to and from Cuba

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Feb. 10, 2016 - The South Florida Business Aviation Association (SFBAA) is hosting a breakfast to discuss the new regulations for flying in and out of Cuba; the event will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.

“These new regulations are important to our industry and to South Florida,” said Jeff Ramsden, SFBAA president. “The SFBAA is committed to staying up to date with current industry practices and educating our membership and the business aviation industry as a whole.”

The SFBAA breakfast will be held at the Jet Runway Cafe located at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, 5540 Northwest 21st Terrace, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on February 17. This is a free event.

The speakers are Charles Bishop of the Miami branch of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Maria Otero from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office.

The speaker presentations will include information on the current OFAC program and recent change; categories of authorized travel to Cuba; importation and exportation of goods to and from Cuba; authorized airports; rule for travelers to and from Cuba; and rules related to providers of carriage by air between the United States and Cuba.
